Stitch pattern selectors        Click here to download this page in pdf format (Adobe Reader required)

Stitch pattern selectors are used on machines to select the type of stitch to be sewn.

There are 2 main types, these are by a cam change system (disks) or by gearbox selector.

Standard Industrial machines usually sew one stitch type, ie. straight stitch or zigzag etc. In the case of pattern stitching machines (including zigzag), straight stitch can also be sewn by moving the stitch width dial to 0. There are a number of these machines that we can supply.

We can add a special gearbox to many zigzag machines to enable a variety of stitch patterns. This is especially useful for sailmakers who like to use both standard zigzag and 3 step (6 point) or 2 step (4 point) zigzag.

However, we know that sail makers often require both 6 point (3 step) or 4 point (2 step) and zig zag sewing on the same machine, for this we can offer the ZZ1000 gearbox.
